Craven's Part in the Great War

Compiled by the editor of the Craven Herald, the original publication was paid for by Walter Morrison of Malham Tarn and a copy given to all those from the Skipton area of Yorkshire who joined the armed forces in the First World War.

The main part of the book lists those who died in the war and is organised in two parts, the first for officers and the second for 'rank and file'. All entries have photographs but there is much more detail about the officers, some of whom have considerable biographies, including their lives before the war.

There are useful statistics about the war, and a war diary showing dates of battles, air raids and other relevant events.
