This is a digitally enhanced copy of the original list published in October 1915, which contained the names and dates of seniority of active officers of the Navy, the Royal Marine Forces and the Naval Forces of the Dominions. The list also contains details of retired officers of the Royal Navy who were receiving a pension at the time of publication and of those officers and men who were killed in action, arranged according to their rank.

Other sections contain details of medals awarded to active officers and information relating to dockyards, depots and medical and educational establishments.

The information is clearly laid out and it is easy to browse particular sections alphabetically by clicking on the 'Bookmarks' section on the left-hand side of the screen, and using the plus symbol to open up the subcategories.
