S&N have added much improved search facilities to their online index to the London 1861 census. The Advanced Person Search form has been revamped and you can now search for nicknames and variants, so that a single search can find entries containing William, Bill, Wm etc. Phonetic search options now allow you to find similar sounding names and they have also added fields where you can specify relationships and the county of birth in your query. The price of the annual subscription has also been reduced by £5. The census page images to go with this index are in the final checking stages and are expected to be available soon, and two more full London census indexes are being launched.
