London, Bishopsgate St Botolph Parish Records 1558-1753

These transcriptions were originally published in three volumes in the late 19th century, and comprise in excess of 2,100 pages. Precise coverage is: baptisms 1558-1690; marriages 1558-1753; and burials 1558-1752. Each volume is individually indexed.

These registers contain far more detail than is typical. In 1650, a note is made that due to 'troublesome tymes' there had been children baptised since 1641 who weren't recorded in the register; a list of some 30 or so baptisms is then added to the register retrospectively. Marriages by licence are noted as such from 1570 onwards. And other assorted annotations indicate things such as the occupations of folks marrying or being buried, and the burial of individuals from outside of the parish.
