The Genealogist is excited to announce that the 1911 Census will soon be available to its Diamond Subscription members, offering fantastic quality of imagery and unparalleled search powers.

The 1911 Census is a crucial step for many in finding their roots and is a vital resource that will benefit family historians everywhere.

TheGenealogist is currently transcribing the 1911 Census to create fully searchable records using its unique search tools including the Keyword Master Search, Family Forename Search and House and Street Search. The Family Forenames Search, for example, can use up to six forenames to uniquely identify the family you're looking for.

The powerful keyword search allows you to identify a person from any of the details that may be recorded, which could include the address, occupation, relationship, place of birth or any other relevant factors. You can now even search using the street address facility to select a specific address.

The 1911 Census is throught to be one of the most important record sets, as it shows family records in detail before World War I. It will give details of where your ancestor lived, who with, their age, place of birth and occupation, as you'd expect.

Additional pieces of information included for the first time are nationality, duration of current marriage, the number of children born within that marriage, the number of living children, and the number of any children who have died. Extra information about their occupation may even include details of the industry in which your ancestors worked.

The 1911 Census was taken on 2 April and contains millions more records than the previous 1901 Census. This is the first available census to be filled in by your ancestors, enabling you to view their handwriting.

	2 The Keyword Master Search returns the results we're looking for, and shows us his address, age, occupation, birth place of St. Pancras, London, as well as the rest of the household and their ages and occupations.
	3 We can now click through to view the original image in stunning detail. We can see Arthur Clark's signaure, and even view his own handwriting thanks to the high resolution scans available.
